I think that this is a Yellow-rumped Warbler. At least, that is my best educated guess!!
I also saw this in my garden this afternoon .At first I thought it was some kind of Grosbeak?, maybe a Towhee? but the closest I can find color wise is a Dark-eyed Junco but the bill is the wrong color and the size of the bird does not fit.
A young female Yellow-rumped Warbler, and a male Eastern (Rufous-sided was the old name) Towhee.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your help with ID!
ReplyDeleteI saw one of these at my feeder also -- a roufous sided towhee -- Hi Jane! I was librarian at your sons' elementary school -- Holland or Hillcrest. I'm retired now and also doing lots of photography. I enjoyed the article in the Courier Times. It would be great to speak with you again and talk photography! Debbie Glessner
